Free Events in Prague: February 2026
Welcome!
This is a new monthly listing of free events in Prague. We’ll keep it updated with the best things you can see, hear, and experience without spending a crown. Discover contemporary Czech art, visit the Museum of Prague, celebrate 230 yers of the National Gallery and try your hand at 3D printing.
We focus on English-friendly events and activities that don’t require much Czech — open, accessible “third space” spaces and situations where you can simply show up and take part.
February is short, but a lot is happening. Let’s take a look.

Sport
Vypich Ice Rink offers free ice skating.
Music
12 February is the start of new series of jazz concerts with free entry at the Goethe-Institut- it is called Kind of Goethe. Vincent Meissner Trio & Duo Pudlax play from 19:30.
25 February at the Italian Cultural Institute: Eugenio Della Chiara (registration at Eventbrite).
Film
13.2. at CAMP at 18:00 the movie Hydrogen: Revolution or Illusion? – only in English, registration mandatory.
18.2. On 18 February, the third meeting in the series In the Footsteps of Francis will take place, marking both the 800th anniversary of The Canticle of the Creatures and the death of Francis of Assisi.
This time, the focus is another cinematic tribute: the 1989 film Francesco, directed by Liliana Cavani. In Italian with English subtitles. Registration at Eventbrite.
22.2. at Camp: The Nagano Tapes. – Ice hockey at its finest. English with Czech subtitles.
Visual arts

The Magnus Art is hosting the Endless Curiosity exhibition, focusing on Czech fine art of the last thirty years, from February 13 to May 2. Given the scope of the collection, the exhibition will change over the course of its run – approximately twenty works will always be on display in two waves.
Going to the hospital? At Motol University Hospital, the Surgery III clinic (III. chirurgická klinika) is hosting an exhibition of contemporary Czech artists titled Invisible Poem (Neviditelná báseň). The exhibition features works by CONVICT (Conrad Eric Armstrong & Viktor Valášek), Zdeněk Daněk, Krištof Kintera, Ester Knapová, Kateřina Ondrušková, František Skála, Barbora Šaroun Šemberová, Veronika Zapletalová, and Kamila Ženatá.
Czech Television also has a small gallery. At the moment, it is showing an exhibition of film puppets and illustrations by Šárka Váchová, titled The Magic of Puppets and the Poetry of the Image – Kouzlo loutek a poezie obrazu.

Tadeáš Podracký – It Grows with You
12.2.-10.5. At Galerie Rudolfinum you can see an exhibition by the renowned Sahej Rahal called Beyond the City of Time.
25.2. At the Meetfactory galleries: Soirée: Guided Tour. Two exhibitions to see, Tadeáš Podracký: It Grows With You and Jozef Mrva ml.: Challenger Escape Plan. Open Studios, and a guided tour in Czech if you are brave.
Until 26.2. at Nová galerie, Balbínova 26, contemporary Czech artists, the exhibition is called Tichý rozhovor (A Quiet Dialogue). Artists: Martin Mainer, Samuel Paučo, Ivan Pinkava, Lukáš Rittstein, Jaroslav Róna Jaroslav, Jakub Špaňhel and other Czech artists.
Third Spaces:
24.2. afternoon: At the small KC Vozovna in Žižkov: A shared space for any kind of personal creative work you’d like to bring with you — drawing, knitting, or anything else.
HW lab (Tuesday to Thursday, 16:30–20:00, Open workshop — free entry: Try 3D printing or CNC.
Plants
Botanical Garden of Charles University (Na Slupi): The outdoor exhibitions are open year-round and free of charge.
Museums

The Museum of Prague has reopened after renovations and currently offers free admission to the entire main building.
Army museum. Tue-Sun 10 to 18 hodin. Military history of Czechia.

The Museum of the Prague Infant Jesus shows the statuette plus various clothes it received from all ofer the world.
The exhibition Gifts for the President from Nearby and Faraway II is on view all year at Prague Castle.
Food
Food Not Bombs Prague distribute food every Sunday from 16:00 at Winston Churchill Square, offering meals to anyone, no questions asked.
You can also get a free hot meal on Friday from 17:30 and Saturday from 16:00 in Holešovice, near Praha-Holešovice railway station. (facebook).
